ICS Depot was established in 2002 and has since developed into the highest ranked depot in terms of throughput in Peninsular Malaysia with facilities in areas connected to the port including Penang, Port Klang and Pasir Gudang as these places are often more convenient to most merchants.

ICS Depot operates empty container depot which is a facility where box operators and leasing companies keep their empty container inventory and, in some countries, they are commonly referred to as an empty container park.

It is a facility where the merchants are required to drop off the carriers’ equipment after devanning their imported goods.

The facility also conducts inspection surveys of boxes returning to the depot on behalf of the container carrier in order to enable the carrier to approve maintenance and repair work required on the box as well as to substantiate damage recovery claims from the merchant.

The depot also prepares the incoming box for export use and subsequent empty pick-up by the exporters.

ICS Depot is sufficient with a high equipment ratio to ensure that the number of equipment available in the depot is suffice to service merchant trucks.

All of the equipment at the ICS Depot are constantly maintained by the experienced Maintenance & Repair team to reduce operations downtime.

Aside from maintenance, ICS Depot is also constantly replacing the aging equipment and upgrading them to improve the overall efficiency in ICS Depot with optimal equipment uptime.

EFFICIENT TURNAROUND TIME

ICS Depot has always focused on providing efficient and reliable services to the customers by investing in various software and systems which play an important role in managing efficient turnaround time at the depot.

The software and systems includes a platform for data interchange and also linking relevant parties including hauliers, merchants and carriers to ICS Depot on a real time basis.

For instance, plans could be made ahead to determine whether container is ready for pick-up, whereby merchant trucks will spend the shortest duration possible within ICS Depot, resulting in fast turnaround time.

Upon arrival at gate, container inspection will be done on the spot, allowing the Estimates of Repair to be updated immediately onto the system. Thus, carriers are able to plan their container maintenance and repair more effectively
